Alex Echo
“At age seven, while at my elementary school in Denver, Colorado, I had my first run in
with the law. Having had a disagreement with another second grader I was sent to the principle’s office to cool my
jets. The administrative assistant to the headmaster needing to keep this young hooligan busy, gave me a pencil and paper
and said, “Kid, draw something for the school play” —I doodled a group of kids singing. To my surprise
my drawing was used as the program announcement and several hundred copies were made. I then said to my self, “there’s
something to this drawing thing, hmmm.”
In 1990, Alexander was hired by the publishing house of Chalk & Vermilion Fine Arts, in Greenwich,
Connecticut, to create paintings to fill the need of nearly 100 galleries to which they supplied original paintings as well as
posters and limited edition serigraphs. Fourteen of his paintings were reproduced into serigraphs and have been sold around the world.
