Stephen Rozmiarek
Stephen Rozmiarek discovered the world of 3D shortly after graduating
from college while working at a film & video production house. There, he directed an animated
video for The Art of Noise (Sire Records), produced animation for the Smashing Pumpkin’s Lalapooluza
Tour and received an Emmy Award (Heartland) nomination. He co-founded American Animation
Company in 1997. Creating animation and special effects over the next several years for clients
such Anheuser-Busch, Qwest, Baby Einstein, Walt Disney, and United Way of NYC, he continued to master
the craft. His work has been seen on NBC Dateline and The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. He
also produced a nationally distributed 20 minute animated children’s video on fire safety
(Buzzly & His Tree House Buddies, Buzzly Productions).
Having used 3D and special effects technology since it was in its
infancy, Stephen has developed a deep and broad understanding of the discipline. However, it is
his passion for art, photography, and a desire to apply 3D techniques to fine art, that has
inspired his latest work
“By focusing on composition, color, and light, I strive to create
work that is beautiful, interesting, and emotionally engaging. In mixing reality with the virtual,
or in practical terms, photography with CG, my aim is to explore fascinating new forms and use
them to surround familiar ones. I feel using 3D space gives me a unique palette to express ideas
in ways radically different from traditional photography or painting. An aesthetic connection can
be made between the real and the virtual, while at the same time, my goal is to create
“a reality that is felt.” ”
